How the daily works
No real-time servers — just one deterministic board and asynchronous echo duels.
One board for everyone
A single puzzle is generated from the UTC date, so every player in the world solves the exact same board each day.
Duel a rival echo
Your opponent is a recorded "ghost" of another player, matched to your skill. It replays their moves so you can see how they reasoned — beat it in fewer moves.
Challenge a friend
Send a friend a 6-character code (valid for 24 hours). They type it in to duel your exact echo on today’s board.
Share, spoiler-free
A result card shows your stars, moves and time as coloured blocks — never the solution. Brag without ruining the puzzle for anyone.
Share the result, not the answer
After you solve the daily, Sortlock renders a clean card: your star rating, move count and time, plus a coloured efficiency bar for you and the echo. Colours convey how well you did — never where the balls go.
